NATIONAL NIGHT OUT – Tuesday, August 7 – 6 pm

National Night Out will be held Tuesday August the 7th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at our District VI police station located at 4321 Sellman Road, Beltsville, Maryland 20723.

This is an awesome event that everyone enjoys and has a lot of fun.  Everything is free.  The fun, the activities, the food, the games, the police and fire displays…everything is at one location and all is free…so enjoy and have fun.

Volunteers are also needed for this Police-Community event. Please volunteer for one the the six volunteer shifts.  If you can’t volunteer, please come to eat, play games, and learn about our county police force. It’s all free. Flyers  with more details, will be posted at the pool.  Please tell me if you are willing to volunteer, by sending me an email with your name, shift desired, and phone number, to rsmason@aol.com.  I will then email one community list to Karen Coakley.   Below is a message from Cpl James Woody.

Richard Mason, Montpelier Security Committee

Good morning my friends,

As we all know, National Night Out is approaching very quickly. It will be held Tuesday August the 7th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at our District VI police station located at 4321 Sellman Road,Beltsville, Maryland 20723. This is an awesome event that everyone enjoys and has a lot of fun. Everything is free-the fun, the activities, the food, the games, the police and fire displays…. everything is at one location and all is free……… so enjoy and have fun.

As you know, we are expecting over 3,000 to attend this year. We will need a lot of volunteers to make this run smoothly. We will have six volunteer shifts this year to assist with the National Night Out. They will be as follows: 400pm to 445pm to set up, 445pm to 530pm to set up, 530pm to 615pm to assist with food lines, 6:15pm to 7:00pm to assist with food lines, 7:00pm to 745pm to assist with food lines and 745pm to 845pm to assist with clean up.

We need to share this info with all of our communities and start a volunteer list. This list needs to include the name, shift(s) wanting to volunteer for and a good contact number. I am asking to have this list emailed to Karen Coakley ( karenmcoakley@gmail.com) by or before August 2nd .

Remember that this is not an Officer Hibbert or Officer Woody event, but it is our communities’ event.  So let’s take pride in our awesome event and let’s show everyone how a strong community comes together to make it work and have a lot of fun in doing so.

I look forward in seeing everyone this year.

Your community friend,
Cpl. Woody#2305
